Fragrant pink flowers with dark purple shoots on young tree.

An unusual and most attractive deciduous tree with dark purple shoots on which coppery-purple young foliage appears in spring which tones beautifully with the spikes of fragrant pale pink flowers. Leaves fade to green in summer with purple veins on undersurface. Black fruits, which birds love, appear in autumn.
TREE 18ft x 12ft (5.5m x 3.7m) in 20 years, ultimate height 30ft (9m).
