The colourful mounds of blue-green foliage topped by the nodding, scarlet and white spurred blooms give this Aquilegia an elfin appearance. Add a touch of mischief to your border! CAUTION: Harmful if eaten. Sowing Instructions. Sow February to June or September to October. Germinate at 15-20C (60-68F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which takes 25-35 days. Do not exclude light at any stage, as this helps germination. Growing Instructions. Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow on in cool, well lit conditions.
