Nasturtium majus Alaska Scarlet

A lovely separate colour selected from the famous Alaska mixture. Scarlet flowers held high above the foliage which is conspicuously marbled and striped with cream, against a light green background. Easy to grow for summer ground cover, or in containers. Flowers summer. Hgt. 20cm (8in).

Sowing Instructions. Sow in spring where they are to flower 20mm (¾in) deep in well cultivated soil in a sunny open site. Sow in rows 30cm (12in) apart and thin out to 15cm (6in) between plants. For earlier flowering they can be sown in early spring at a temperature of 13-16C (55-60F) and transplanted into 7.5cm (3in) pots.

Growing Instructions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost. They flower most freely in poor dryish soils and full sun. Before planting in containers make sure they are well rooted in their pots.
