Leaves in spring on a young plant.

This purple leafed form of Hazel makes an outstanding ornamental and fruit-bearing deciduous hedge. Plant in full sun for best leaf colour. HEDGE Trim in March (taking care to leave some catkins and female flowers if nuts are wanted). For hedges 5-12ft (1.5-3.7m). Plant 2-3ft (60-90cm) apart. SHRUB 15ft x 12ft (4.6m x 3.7m).
